Overview

Aludel is a macOS application that transforms any text—from a few lines to entire books—into a polished, two-voice podcast episode. It accepts files (TXT, MD, HTML, PDF), URLs, or pasted text, extracts clean content, and generates an editable dialogue script using large language models. Users can review and modify the script before audio synthesis, ensuring full control over tone, content, and speaker assignment. For speech, Aludel supports both cloud-based providers (OpenAI, Anthropic, ElevenLabs via API keys) and entirely offline local models (Ollama or Osaurus for LLMs, Piper for TTS). The app runs natively on Apple Silicon, requires no account or internet connection when using local providers, and does not collect telemetry. Finished episodes are played with a synced waveform and transcript, and can be exported as MP3 or WAV files. The Pro version adds distribution channels: episodes can be published directly to a server via SFTP, rsync, or FTPS, generating valid podcast RSS feeds suitable for Apple Podcasts and Spotify.
