Manage routine backups and maintenance tasks

What Problem It Solves ▼

BashPilot eliminates the repetitive and time-consuming manual effort involved in routine server administration. It reduces the need for deep command-line expertise, minimizes human error, and accelerates common tasks such as certificate management, container cleanup, and performance diagnostics, freeing engineers for higher-value work.

Key Features ▼
✓

Automates routine sysadmin tasks across multiple platforms and control panels

✓

Verifies every change by reading live server state, not just exit codes

✓

Requests explicit user approval before performing destructive or risky actions

✓

Agent requires no inbound ports or SSH keys, and communicates over an encrypted channel

✓

Maintains a complete audit trail of all operations for compliance and review

Overview

BashPilot is an AI-powered operator designed to automate Linux server management across Kubernetes, Docker, and traditional hosting stacks. Users describe desired outcomes in plain English via a chat interface, and the system plans, executes, and verifies the necessary steps on the server, providing a full audit trail of changes.

Full Description ▼

The product uses a lightweight agent that connects to the BashPilot cloud over an encrypted channel, pulling tasks and reporting results without requiring open inbound ports or SSH keys. It integrates with platforms like cPanel, Plesk, DirectAdmin, Ubuntu, AlmaLinux, Rocky Linux, and Debian, covering common administration tasks such as certificate renewal, DNS management, mail queue clearing, database operations, and deployment scaling.

Before making any changes, BashPilot diagnoses issues by inspecting logs, services, and resource usage. For potentially destructive actions, it pauses to request explicit user approval. After each operation, it reads the live server state to confirm that the change was applied successfully, rather than relying solely on exit codes.

All interactions, decisions, and results are stored historically, enabling users to review what was changed, when, and why. This approach transforms time-consuming routine work into a conversational, auditable process, allowing engineers to focus on more critical tasks.

Pros & Cons

Automates routine sysadmin tasks across multiple platforms and control panels

+

Verifies every change by reading live server state, not just exit codes

+

Requests explicit user approval before performing destructive or risky actions

+

Agent requires no inbound ports or SSH keys, and communicates over an encrypted channel

Cons

−

Paid subscription required after the 7-day free trial concludes

−

Agent must be installed on each managed server, which may not be feasible in all environments

−

Limited to officially supported platforms, potentially excluding custom or legacy stacks

−

Requires constant internet connectivity for the agent to poll and execute tasks

−

May introduce latency overhead compared to direct command-line execution for simple tasks
