GitNexus
GitNexus is a knowledge graph platform designed to index codebases into a structured representation of symbols, dependencies, call chains, clusters, and execution flows. By parsing every file with Tree-sitter and deterministically resolving imports, field types, and return types, it creates a precise graph of relationships without relying on embedding guesswork. This allows AI coding agents to query the entire codebase context in a few compact lines instead of grepping through pages of files, significantly improving accuracy and efficiency. The system precomputes all relationships and applies Leiden community detection to discover architectural groupings, such as auth, ingestion, or billing modules, scored by cohesion and modularity. It also provides impact analysis, tracing downstream callers grouped by depth and confidence, and supports cross-repo graphs so a breaking change in one service surfaces in every dependent repository before it ships. With MCP tools for Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, Windsurf, Antigravity, and other agents, GitNexus lets models walk resolved execution flows instead of reading files blind. GitNexus is available as an open-source project on GitHub, with a hosted enterprise offering at app.akonlabs.com. The web-based graph explorer allows live interaction with real codebases, and the platform has been benchmarked on DeepSWE, where agents using GitNexus solved 68.4% of issues versus 37.0% without, while using fewer tokens and steps. It is designed for modern development workflows that demand precise code understanding, especially for AI-assisted development and large-scale refactoring.

Problem solved
AI coding agents typically rely on grep-based search, which misses dependencies and call chains, leading to incomplete context, broken edits, and expensive trial-and-error. GitNexus solves this by building a deterministic knowledge graph of the entire codebase, allowing agents to traverse resolved execution flows and understand the blast radius of any change. This results in more accurate code fixes, lower token usage, and faster completion of coding tasks.
