IM.

Use Cases ▼
01

Monitor and extend Claude Code sessions from a smartphone

02

Continue a long‑running code generation task while commuting

03

Check git diffs and approve changes produced by an AI agent remotely

04

Preview a localhost development server tunneled from the same machine

05

Start a new Gemini CLI coding agent through a mobile‑optimized dashboard

06

Review and edit files produced by terminal agents without using a code editor on the phone

What Problem It Solves ▼

Terminal-based AI coding assistants are powerful but tie the developer to a specific workstation; leaving the desk means losing the ability to oversee or interact with ongoing tasks. IM.codes solves this by providing a remote control interface so developers can continue agent-driven work from a mobile device or web browser, ensuring sessions remain productive and under control even when away from the primary machine.

Key Features ▼
✓

Open source and free to use or modify

✓

Works with multiple popular CLI coding agents (Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI)

✓

Mobile-friendly web UI enables true away‑from‑desk productivity

✓

Provides built‑in terminal, file browser, and git views in one interface

✓

Self‑hosted architecture keeps data and control on the developer’s own machine

Overview

IM.codes is an open-source control layer that provides a mobile- and web-friendly interface for terminal-based AI coding agents such as Claude Code, Codex CLI, Gemini CLI, and others. It is designed to let developers start, monitor, and continue coding sessions from their phone or any browser, decoupling AI-assisted programming from a physical workstation. The tool exposes a web server, typically running on the same machine as the CLI agents, offering remote access to a live terminal, file system browser, real-time git status and diff view, and localhost tunnel previews. This allows developers to review agent outputs, accept changes, run commands, or boot new agents while away from their desk. IM.codes focuses on reducing friction in workflows that rely on headless coding agents, where interruptions would otherwise block progress until returning to the machine. By bridging mobile devices and terminal environments, it turns multi-hour AI coding sessions into asynchronous, always-on processes that the developer can steer from anywhere. The project is distributed as source code and requires a self-hosted deployment, suitable for those comfortable with CLI tools and basic server management.
