Use Cases ▼
01

Storing passwords offline on iPhone

02

Managing two-factor authentication codes locally

03

Keeping encrypted notes and files on device

04

Using a decoy vault for personal security during travel or border crossings

05

Securely backing up and transferring an encrypted vault manually

06

Avoiding cloud synchronization for sensitive data

What Problem It Solves ▼

Krypt addresses the vulnerability of cloud-based password managers, which centralize user secrets on servers that become prime targets for breaches. By storing all data exclusively on the user's device with no internet connectivity, it eliminates the risk of server-side attacks, subpoenas, and unauthorized access, offering a truly private and self-contained vault.

Overview

Krypt is an offline password and secret manager for iOS, designed for maximum privacy. Unlike cloud-based vaults, Krypt stores all data locally on the device, encrypted with AES-256 and secured with PBKDF2-SHA256 key derivation. It never transmits data to any server, has no cloud sync, no account requirements, and no analytics. The app operates without internet permission, ensuring complete air-gap security. It supports passwords, secure notes, file storage, and a built-in TOTP authenticator, eliminating the need for multiple apps. A unique decoy vault feature allows users to set a separate PIN that reveals a fake vault, providing plausible deniability in coercive situations. The real vault remains hidden. Security features include configurable auto-lock, Face ID integration, and increasing delays after incorrect PIN attempts, with a total wipe after 10 failures. Encryption keys are device-bound and excluded from iCloud backups. Krypt offers a free tier with basic functionality, while the Pro tier adds unlimited storage, decoy vault, encrypted backup export/import, and Face ID. Pricing is $3.99/month or $23.90/year. The app requires iOS 17.6+ and is available worldwide via the App Store.
