Overview

MLForge is a unified AI/ML platform designed as an operating system for open AI infrastructure. It provides a desktop application that runs locally, leveraging users' own GPUs without relying on cloud services. The platform integrates dataset discovery, model registry, annotation, local training, benchmarking, and inference into a single workflow, allowing users to maintain full control over their data and compute resources. MLForge's model registry offers access to over 5000 open-source models from providers like Hugging Face, timm, and others, with detailed metadata including performance metrics such as latency, accuracy, and VRAM usage. Users can search, filter, and compare models across task types, frameworks, and hardware targets. The platform also supports dataset curation with AI-assisted annotation, including integration with SAM (Segment Anything Model) for automated labeling, as well as tools for duplicate removal, class balancing, and data augmentation. The built-in benchmarking engine enables side-by-side evaluation of models on local hardware, measuring FPS, latency, and memory consumption. MLForge facilitates local training and fine-tuning, and models can be exported to edge devices. The entire pipeline is designed to be offline-capable, ensuring data privacy and eliminating cloud lock-in. Built on open technologies like NVIDIA, Supabase, and OpenAI, MLForge is currently in beta and offers a free tier to get started.
