Pickle Browser is an agent-first desktop browser for Windows that lets users give a natural-language goal, then watch an AI agent search, open real pages, read them, and write up findings with sources.

Use Cases ▼
01

Research topics across multiple live websites and get a sourced write-up

02

Automate repetitive browser tasks like data extraction and form navigation

03

Summarize the current page or answer questions about visible content

04

Drive browser actions from Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor, or VS Code over MCP

05

Run private, offline browsing tasks using a bundled local model

06

Test multi-step web workflows with human-in-the-loop oversight

What Problem It Solves ▼

Pickle Browser solves the opacity and cost of cloud-based browser agents by providing a local, visible browser that an AI agent can drive while the user watches and can interrupt. It enables multi-step research and browser tasks with real pages and logins, without requiring headless infrastructure, a cloud account, or raw HTML token costs.

Overview

Pickle Browser is an agent-first desktop browser for Windows that lets users give a natural-language goal, then watch an AI agent search, open real pages, read them, and write up findings with sources. It runs locally on the user's machine in a visible window, so every step is observable and the user can take over at any time. The tool includes a bundled Ollama engine and downloads a small open model on first run, enabling free offline use without an account.

Full Description ▼

Users can also switch models in Settings: connect to free hosted models such as Ollama Cloud or NVIDIA Build, or bring a Claude, GPT, or Gemini API key they already pay for. Pickle Browser can be driven over MCP from Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor, or VS Code with 72 tools, and connected agents inherit approval gates for buying, sending, and other irreversible actions.

The browser emphasizes efficiency and privacy. Instead of sending raw HTML, it sends a compact structured page summary that the homepage reports as a median 156× fewer tokens than raw HTML across ten real sites. On the bundled local model, page content never leaves the device, API cost is $0, and the tool works offline. Free hosted models send page text for the task to their servers, but history, notes, and logins stay local.
