Use Cases ▼
01

Rehearsing a first-round job interview by voice with AI interviewers

02

Getting a scored portfolio review against a specific job description

03

Practicing follow-up questions and answer structure before a real interview

04

Identifying weak sentences and missing evidence in a portfolio or resume

05

Building confidence for career changers or candidates returning to interviews

06

Practicing answers in a chosen role, language, and interview style

07

Reviewing per-answer feedback and stronger example answers after a mock session

What Problem It Solves ▼

Candidates are often screened before a human reviews their work, and real interviews rarely provide detailed, structured feedback. Preterview lets job seekers rehearse with AI interviewers that have read their resume, portfolio, and the target job description, then receive scored, per-answer feedback on both content and delivery so gaps can be fixed before a real interview.

Overview

Preterview is a web-based interview preparation service that combines portfolio review with voice-driven mock interviews. Users upload a resume, portfolio (PDF or image), links, or text, and add a target role or job description. The platform scores the portfolio across five dimensions — structure and story, impact and results, technical depth, clarity and polish, and distinctiveness — and returns written feedback with concrete revision examples.

Full Description ▼

For mock interviews, the service simulates a panel of three AI interviewers that have read the user's documents and the job posting. Questions are asked aloud and candidates answer by voice or text, including follow-up questions. After the session, Preterview produces a report that scores answers across dimensions such as role expertise, problem solving, communication, specific experience, and attitude and impact, and provides example answers for improvement.

Preterview is priced as a free-to-try service: portfolio review is free once a day and resume polishing is free. After signing in, users with insufficient interview passes can try up to three answers per day for free, without a report; the full interview report consumes passes. The company states there is no subscription, and public sample reports and reviews are shown on the site.
