Rootlize
Rootlize is a Windows desktop application that provides a local-first workspace for managing image collections. It lets users search, organize, and automate workflows around existing folders on their PC, without requiring the images to be uploaded to a cloud service. The app combines basic search, OCR, and a bundled meaning-based search model that runs fully on-device, enabling users to find images by visual content and keywords without additional setup. The application also includes an Ask AI feature that converts short instructions into search, action, or automation tasks within the workspace. This requires sign-in and an internet connection, and may send image content to an external AI service with user consent. Automation capabilities allow users to save repeated find-and-organize flows and run them again later, improving productivity for repetitive image management tasks. Targeting Windows 10 and 11, the current prototype preview is free to download and requires a Rootlize account sign-in (via Google, GitHub, or email). The app is proprietary software and is distributed as a portable ZIP build. While the preview focuses on local-first privacy, certain AI-powered features rely on cloud services.
