Overview

Snapflow is an open-source, cross-platform video editor that integrates a built-in AI agent harness directly into the editing workflow. It provides traditional non-linear editing tools including frame inspection, timeline arrangement, keyframe animation, cropping, and timing adjustments, while enabling connected, AI-assisted production. The editor is designed to keep the human artist in control while allowing agents to handle repetitive or complex tasks.

Full Description ▼

Snapflow supports the Model Context Protocol (MCP), allowing users to connect their own AI models from providers such as OpenAI, Anthropic, or any compatible model through a pluggable layer. This means agents can interact with the editing surface to manipulate frames, arrange clips on the timeline, adjust animations, crops, and pacing without switching between separate tools or platforms.

Licensed under GPLv3, Snapflow can be installed on Linux and Windows via command-line scripts, with macOS support listed as coming soon. The project is hosted on GitHub and is free to use, making it accessible for hobbyists, content creators, and developers who want an open, extensible video editing environment with native AI integration.
