Overview

Soink is a macOS desktop application that functions as an AI voice keyboard, enabling live hands-free dictation in any text field. Instead of recording and pasting a block of text after speaking, Soink streams words in real time as they are spoken, providing immediate visual feedback. It includes an auto-polish feature that cleans up filler words, false starts, and rambling to produce well-formed written text. Users can also edit text using voice commands, such as 'change Tuesday to Wednesday', and send messages by saying 'send', which triggers the enter key. Soink works across a wide range of applications, including Slack, Gmail, Google Docs, Chrome, Cursor, Terminal, ChatGPT, VS Code, and many more, making it a universal input method on Mac. Additionally, it allows seamless switching between voice and keyboard input within the same sentence without needing to restart or press any shortcuts. The tool was motivated by the developer's wrist injury, aiming to provide an accessible and efficient way to work hands-free.
