StarkIDE
StarkIDE is a native desktop integrated development environment (IDE) built specifically for agentic coding workflows. It allows developers to run multiple AI coding agents—such as Claude Code, Codex, and Cursor—simultaneously in separate terminal panes, all within a single workspace. The IDE includes a full Monaco editor, Git client, database browser, embedded web browser, and task planner, enabling end-to-end development from planning to production without switching tools. The application uses isolated workspaces backed by Git worktrees, so each agent can operate on its own branch without interfering with others. This makes it possible to manage parallel tasks like bug fixes, migrations, and UI polish concurrently. StarkIDE is local-first, keeping all data on the device, and is available for macOS, Windows, and Linux. StarkIDE is currently in public beta and offered for free. It targets individual developers and small teams who want a unified environment for coordinating agent-driven development, reducing context switching and improving productivity.

Problem solved
Developers using AI coding assistants often juggle multiple terminal sessions, editors, version control, and browsers, losing context and efficiency. StarkIDE consolidates these into a single native application, enabling parallel agent execution, isolated worktrees, and integrated tools for planning, coding, reviewing, and shipping, thus streamlining the agentic development workflow.
Use cases
- Running multiple AI coding agents on different tasks simultaneously
- Managing end-to-end agent-driven feature development from planning to deployment
- Isolating agent changes in separate worktrees to avoid merge conflicts
- Reviewing and committing AI-generated code with integrated Git diff and staging
- Testing agent-controlled application changes in an embedded browser
- Organizing tasks with a Kanban board and assigning them to agents
Audience
- Developers
- ML Engineers
- Data Scientists
- Researchers
- Startups
Pros
- Unified workspace reduces context switching
- Isolated Git worktrees allow safe parallel agent execution
- Integrated tools (editor, Git, DB, browser) cover full development cycle
- Local-first architecture ensures privacy and offline capability
- Free during public beta
Cons
- Early public beta may have bugs and limited features
- Only supports a few specific AI agent CLIs (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor)
- No cloud synchronization for multi-machine workflows
- Monaco editor lacks the full extension ecosystem of VS Code
- Requires manual installation and configuration of agent CLIs
