TagSet is a mobile application designed to accelerate the creation of labeled image datasets for machine learning and computer vision tasks.

Use Cases ▼
01

Rapid collection of training images for classification models

02

Field data gathering for recycling or waste sorting computer vision systems

03

On-site dataset creation for industrial quality inspection

04

Educational projects where students need to build custom image datasets quickly

05

Prototyping computer vision apps without investing in complex annotation tools

06

Collecting geographically distributed data for research without central servers

What Problem It Solves ▼

Building labeled image datasets often involves a tedious cycle of capturing photos, manually sorting them into class folders on a computer, and uploading them to cloud storage. This process is time-consuming, error-prone, and breaks the flow of data collection. TagSet solves this by making the entire workflow instantaneous: capture, label, and upload happen in one step on a mobile device, directly populating a training-ready folder structure in the user's own storage.

Key Features ▼
✓

Extremely fast capture-to-upload workflow

✓

No backend; data stays private and secure on your own storage

✓

Automatically organizes images into training-ready folder structure

✓

Works with any S3-compatible cloud provider

✓

Free with no accounts or analytics tracking

Overview

TagSet is a mobile application designed to accelerate the creation of labeled image datasets for machine learning and computer vision tasks. It collapses the traditional multi-step process of capturing images, sorting them into class folders, and uploading them to cloud storage into a single seamless loop on your phone. Users define a set of labels (classes), and with one tap, each captured photo is automatically tagged, queued, and uploaded directly to a corresponding folder in an S3-compatible cloud storage bucket of their choice.

Full Description ▼

Because TagSet runs entirely on-device without a backend server, your storage credentials are kept locally in the iOS Keychain and never transmitted elsewhere. Images travel directly from the app to your own cloud storage, ensuring full data ownership and privacy. The app works with any S3-compatible provider, including Amazon S3, Cloudflare R2, MinIO, Backblaze B2, and Wasabi.

The resulting dataset is organized into a folder-per-label structure, which is immediately compatible with popular deep learning frameworks like PyTorch (torchvision) and Keras. This eliminates the need for manual file renaming, sorting scripts, or glue code. TagSet is free to use and currently available on iOS, with an Android version in development.
