Overview

PaisaProof is a real-time spending interception app built for Indian professionals. It monitors payment notifications and, within seconds of a transaction, displays an alert asking if the user meant to spend, while simultaneously showing the long-term wealth opportunity cost of the purchase. This immediate feedback is designed to break the habit of mindless spending by introducing a moment of conscious reflection. The app translates small impulse spends into a 30-year investment corpus loss, making the trade-off tangible.

Full Description ▼

The app features a live demo that simulates a credit card swipe, updating a mock bill and highlighting the interception flow. Users can 'Undo & Save' to mentally allocate the avoided spend to a future corpus. A dashboard provides at-a-glance metrics such as days until the next credit cycle reset, credit utilization percentage, current bill amount, and a safety status.

PaisaProof is built with a privacy-first approach, claiming to keep all data on the user's device by default and never collecting unnecessary information. It currently operates on a waitlist model and will be free upon launch. The founder, a software engineer frustrated with after-the-fact budgeting tools, designed the app to serve as a guardrail for daily digital payments, which are ubiquitous in India.

In addition to the core interception feature, the website offers a suite of financial calculators for SIPs, loans, and habit costing, reinforcing the app's educational angle. The tool is not a payment blocker but a behavioral nudge, adding just enough friction to help users distinguish between intentional and impulsive expenses.
